Getting Started
How does the queue system work?

When you arrive at a court, open NextUp and tap "Join Queue." You'll see your position and estimated wait time. When the current game ends, you'll receive a push notification giving you a 3-minute window to check in. Miss the window and you move to the back — keeping things fair for everyone.

Does NextUp require special court equipment?

No hardware required. NextUp works entirely through the mobile app. Players manage their own queue and scores. Facilities can optionally display a QR code on a TV or tablet for instant walk-up check-in, but the core features work without any setup at all.

Is NextUp available on iOS and Android?

NextUp is currently available on iOS via the App Store and on Android via Google Play. The app requires iOS 14+ or Android 8+.

Which sports are supported?

Currently Basketball, Pickleball, and Tennis. Each sport has custom scoring rules, queue limits, and team sizes. More sports are coming soon based on community feedback.

AI Coaching
How does AI coaching work?

After each game, Claude AI analyzes your performance data — shots attempted, accuracy, court coverage, and movement patterns — and generates a personalized coaching report. It classifies your playstyle (Scorer, Winner, Hustle, or All-Around), identifies your strengths and trends, and gives you one high-impact tip to work on. In Solo mode, you get real-time feedback shot by shot.

How accurate is the AI coaching?

The AI uses anonymized data from thousands of games to benchmark your performance. While not a replacement for a professional coach, most users see measurable improvement in specific metrics (like shot accuracy or movement patterns) within 4–6 weeks of consistent use.

Can I use AI coaching without any extra equipment?

Yes — all you need is your phone. In Solo Training mode, just point your camera at the hoop and NextUp's AI detects every shot automatically. No wearables, no court cameras, no setup required.

Privacy & Data
What data does NextUp collect during Solo Training?

During Solo Training, your phone's camera processes video locally to detect shots in real time. No raw video is uploaded to our servers — only the resulting stats (makes, misses, arc score, session duration) are saved to your profile. You can delete any session from your history at any time.

Can I delete my account and data?

Yes. Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. All personal data including face data, game history, and profile information is permanently deleted within 30 days.

Do you sell my data to third parties?

Never. We do not sell personal data. Anonymized, aggregated performance data may be used to improve AI coaching quality, but individual data is never shared commercially.

Billing & Plans
What's included in the free plan?

The free plan includes joining queues at any court, viewing live scores, a basic player profile, and push notifications. No credit card required — ever.

Can I cancel my subscription anytime?

Yes. Cancel anytime from Settings → Subscription in the app. Your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period. No cancellation fees.

Do you offer refunds?

Refunds are available within 7 days of your initial purchase. For circumstances beyond 7 days, contact support@thenextup.app and we'll review your case.
